The Office 365 portal allows you to change your CWSL network password from any computer with an Internet connection.  This article applies regardless of whether you know your password and you just want to or need to change it, or if you have forgotten it.  

If you have forgotten your password, skip to the Forgotten Password section below.  Note: the Forgotten Password reset instructions only work if your account recovery information is correct in your Office 365 profile (i.e. your mobile number and/or external email address).


To change your password in situations where you currently know your password, follow the procedure immediately below.  Because password update synchronization between all systems can take a few minutes, we recommend doing this right before going to lunch. The synchronization should be complete when you return from lunch.



How To Change Your CWSL Password  (you know your current password)


1.  Log into the Office 365 portal at https://go.cwsl.edu


2.  Click on your name in the upper right corner.


3.  Click on View Account.


4.  Click on Security info on the left side navigation bar.
     Before changing your password, we strongly recommend you verify that your

     account recovery information is correct.  We recommend having at least a mobile

     phone number and external email as an account recovery option. 


5.  Click on Password on the left side navigation bar. Follow the prompts to 

     change your password.



Your CWSL password has now been changed!  However, it can take a little while to synchronize the new password between all systems.  Please allow up to 30 minutes for the password change to synchronize throughout all systems before contacting IT to report a problem.


Also, please remember that this is the password that is used to get into the CWSL wireless network as well as other connected systems, therefore you'll need to enter this new password into all of your personal devices that connect to the CWSL wireless network.

Forgotten Password

1.  Close all of your browser windows.  Open a web browser in a "private" or "incognito" mode (see this article if you're not sure how to do this).  
      Note: this step may be skipped if you don't have any other Office 365 accounts or identities.


2.  In the private browser session, go to the CWSL Office 365 portal by typing in go.cwsl.edu. Enter your full username (e.g. username@cwsl.edu) then click Next


3.  On the Enter password screen, do not enter a password. Instead, click on the Forgot my password link.


       



4.  In the "Get back into your account" screen, enter the "captcha" characters, then click Next.


       

 


   

5. Select one of the contact methods. 


       

        


4.  You will be sent a 6-digit verification code to the option you selected. Enter that verification code then click Next.


         

       




5.  On the Get back into your account screen, enter your new 10+ character password, then click Finish.
