The Office 365 portal allows you to review and update your alternate authentication methods. These are used for resetting your forgotten password (a.k.a Self-Service Password Reset). We support the following authentication methods for self-service password resets 1) a mobile phone number, 2) alternate email address.  We recommend configuring both the Authentication Phone and the Authentication Email.

It's a good idea to review this information periodically to make sure it contains valid contact information for you. Valid alternate authentication information is necessary for the self-service password reset capabilities of Office 365 to function properly if you have forgotten your password.  Note: the Self-Service Password Reset feature of Office 365 is where the IT Service Desk will direct you if you have forgotten your password.

1.  Log into the CWSL Office 365 portal at https://go.cwsl.edu. You will be prompted to enter your user name (full email address: username@cwsl.edu) and password.

2.  In the upper right corner, click on your name:

3. Click on My Account:

4.  Click on Security Info and confirm your current password.

5.  On the don't lose access to your account screen you can verify your Authentication Phone and Authentication Email. Note: we strongly recommend setting both your Authentication Phone and Authentication Email.

6.  Click looks good when you are done.

Note:

 - The Authentication Phone is typically your mobile phone number.

 - The Authentication Email is typically your personal (non-CWSL) email address.

Setting both of these will help ensure you are never locked out of your CWSL account due to a forgotten password.
